While, technically, there had to be a “worst” letter to the editor from Saturday’s Democrat-Gazette, none was especially egregious. So, rather than force things, I decided to give equal time to the bright spots in an otherwise dismal paper. With that in mind, here’s the letter from Robert E. Hymer Sr. of Little Rock.
After two years as president, what has Barack Obama accomplished?
A sweeping reform law establishes health care coverage as a right for all Americans, reportedly expanding coverage to 32 million more Americans while simultaneously reducing the deficit by $1.3 trillion over the next 20 years. It also makes illegal many of the health insurance industry’s worst tactics for making more profit at the cost of people’s health.
Mr. Hymer, you are preaching to the choir, at least as I reprint this on Blue Hog Report, but may I say that the fact that there is one person out who is willing to write such things to the paper warms my otherwise cold and non-forgiving heart? I hope Robert E. Hymer Jr. is similarly enlightened.
When Obama took over the presidency, the country’s economy was heading down due to the disastrous policies of George W. Bush.
Seriously, Mr. Hymer, have you ever considered adopting a blogger? Do you have a need for a 32-year-old son?
He signed the stimulus into law and it has helped to stem the job losses. Elimination of the F-22 fighter jet program is an example of reducing some of the wasteful spending.

Obama’s first Supreme Court nominee [Sonia Sotomayor] was successful and she became the first Hispanic on the court and only the third woman. The credit card reform law has helped to provide new protection for customers. Obama signed an executive order allowing more federal money to be used for stem-cell research.
Which is, of course, a good thing.
He launched more attacks on terrorists in his first year than did Bush in his last four.
BLASPHEMY! (Sweet, delicious, ironic blasphemy of the very best kind.)
Obama’s salvation depends upon four issues: reviving the economy, raising the standard of living for the non-wealthy, fulfilling what’s left of his campaign promises and, of course, getting re-elected.
I couldn’t have said it better near as succinctly myself.
