Former State Sen. Jake Files has a lot on his plate right now, what with the pending federal criminal charges and all, so it’s little surprise that he came into the matchup with 12 seed State Rep. Jim Sorvillo looking a little flat. What is a surprise, however, is that Sorvillo used his hands-on approach to offense with such effectiveness against Files. Throughout the game, Sorvillo, known widely as a dirty player, was able to keep Files in check with a series of well-place grabs, pinches, and slaps that were noticed by referee Jeremy Gillam but were not called as fouls. At least not publicly.
